Anne Thornhill: A different perspective
Posted by Admin on
“A different perspective” is a new exhibition of oil paintings by Whitby artist Anne Thornhill.
Anne has been painting professionally since graduating from Lincoln College of Art and Bath Academy of Art where she specialized in Fine Art, Etching, and Visual Perception. She has taught in both secondary and adult education and continues to mentor local art groups. And from 1975 to 1996 she owned and ran a couple of art galleries alongside her husband and fellow artist Paul Blackwell
Anne’s work reflects her interest in perceptual shifts between subject areas and between representation and abstraction. She uses a linear framework to pull the viewer into the picture space and to provide changing options for a visual journey. A sense of place remains important and this is achieved by drawing and observation on site.
The exhibition opens at village gallery York on Tuesday 26th October 2021, and it runs until Saturday 4th December.
