Antique Georgian silver sugar tongs, 1817

These antique Georgian silver sugar tongs are of plain design. The end has been monogrammed/personalised. The hallmarks for 1817, along with the lion rampant, George III head and maker's mark are reasonably clear. There is no town duty mark, but this is not uncommon for this period. The maker's mark, WW, is for William Weston. The tongs are 14.5 cm (5.75') long, by 3.5 cm (1.5' wide), and 1.6 cm ( .6') at their highest. They weigh 34g. All measurements are approximate. Overall condition is good for their age, with only normal surface wear commensurate with their age. Please study photos as these form an important part of the description.
