This large round antique silver salver has a gadroon edge, and carries a fine engraved scroll and floral swags decoration. The salver stands on three feet. The salver is clearly hallmarked on the front face for Sheffield, 1907, and the makers Atkin Brothers. All marks are crisp and clear, except for the maker's mark which has some wear. In addition to the salver tray hallmarks, each of the feet carries a lion passant silver mark. Atkin Brothers operated from Truro Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield. The salver is26.5 cm (10.5') in diameter, and stands 1.8 cm (0.7') high. It weighs 523 grams (18.5 oz / 16.8 T.oz). All measurements are approximate. The salver is in very good condition for its age/usage. There are two small depressions to the centre of the salver, some surface scratching and a couple of minor spots on the finish. Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
