Antique Dutch silver caddy spoon, imported 1892

This highly ornate Dutch silver caddy spoon features a repoussé design of a figure bearing a flower, surmounted by a crest of angels on the handle, and other cast decorations to the finial. The spoon bears the Dutch hallmarks of a lion atop a key that designate it as for export. This mark was used c1853-1953. Above this export hallmark the spoon is stamped '930' to indicate the grade of silver. In addition to the Dutch hallmarks, the spoon bears a full set of British silver import marks that show the spoon was imported/re-assayed in London in 1892. The importer was Samuel Boyce (or Boaz) Landeck, known importers of foreign silver, based in Campden Square, London. All marks are crisp and clear. The spoon bowl measures 5.5 cm (2.2') in diameter and is 1.5 cm (.5') deep. The overall length is 12.2 cm (4.8'). It weighs 28g. All measurements are approximate. The spoon is in very good condition. There is a hint that the handle has been bent and re-shaped in the past. Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
