Alexandra Bell
Alexandra is a multimedia three dimensional artist and designer based in York. Specialising in copper and enamel, Alexandra’s passion for metalwork began when she purchased a narrow boat project and began renovating it, discovering that working with her hands meditated her busy mind.
Alexandra went on to complete an access to art course followed by a BA(Hons) degree in 3D Contemporary Craft at York College, where her craftsmanship in blacksmithing and glass developed into a passion for copper and enamelling.
Alexandra uses ancient techniques to shape and form copper, enamelling the internal surface, creating vibrant colourful patinas on her finished pieces.
Alexandra is inspired by nature, abstract art, space and the universe, and transforms her experience and interpretation into the visual language of sculpture.
