James Veale

James Veale

Based in Cambridgeshire, British-born James Veale designs and makes jewellery made from fine metals.

After graduating from Loughborough University, where he studied design – specialising in jewellery and ceramics – James went to work at Harlequin Goldsmiths.  There, he designed and cast jewellery, including work for Dr Who’s 50th anniversary.

In 2013 James decided to go it alone rather than work for a big company, and worked on personal commissions from friends.

James’ work is based on his experiences together  with inspiration from his friends. He believes if you create original art from ideas you are passionate about, it becomes less about selling products and more about sharing your experiences with others. The influence of his rural upbringing can be seen in his work.

Around the beginning of 2014 Edward Waites, a good friend of James, suggested they combined their skills of traditional sculpting and jewellery design.

Edward is an internationally recognised sculptor, specialising in animal forms. James and Edward have put together a collection that define who they are and the long friendship they've shared.
