Julia Williams

Julia has sketched in pencil for as long as she can remember, and over the years she has attended many painting courses using different media.

Julia loves experimenting and, together with texture and pattern, the one underlying feature that gives her satisfaction is the balance of light and dark with enough space left around shapes and lines to let them breathe and be seen.

Julia has completed several very differing commissions. She also works both freely and with inspiration from photographs.  The latter can be as diverse as patterns in natural forms and portraits of people she has met.

There is a permanent gallery on display at her home in Dringhouses, York, including a collection works by many other artists.
