Lynda Heaton

Lynda has painted for as long as she can remember … she won 2nd prize in a national painting competition for schools at the age of 10.

Lynda studied “Retail and Exhibition Display” at Bradford art college, gaining British Display Society qualifications. And she put this studying and qualification to practical use doing exactly this in her subsequent working life, during which she continued to study and practice art in many forms – printmaking, life drawing, painting and pottery.

Since retiring Lynda has been able to spend much of her time painting in her home studio.

She is passionate about watercolour painting and loves the way the colours mingle and move across the paper sometimes giving surprising effects. She also experiments with other water based media in her paintings to give different textures.

Lynda’s works come from her imagination or from memories of somewhere she’s been and the mood of that place. Other pieces are inspired by the natural world, the colours, textures and rhythms found in nature. And having recently renovated a large pond she is now further inspired to paint the pond life there including the beautiful dragonflies that visit and the plants that grow in and around the water.
